The Russian regional airline KrasAvia is relying on a new pattern in the middle of the corona crisis. The first ATR72-500 turboprop aircraft arrived in Krasnoyarsk on November 10, 2020 and is now registered as RA-676111.

According to CH-Aviation.com, the machine is owned by the Erik Thun Group and was previously used by Braathens Regional Airways. KrasAvia wants to increase the sub-fleet to a total of three units. These replace older machines from the Soviet era. The carrier has also ordered three Ilyushin Il-114s. These are to be delivered from 2023. This pattern is extremely rare, as only 1986 copies were made between 2012 and 20. According to the current plans of the Russian government, production is to be resumed from 2022. The Il-114 should then be available again as a modernized variant.
