From January 1, 2021, tourist trips to the Russian Federation will be much easier, because the bureaucratic trip to the embassy will no longer be necessary. In future there will be an electronic visa that is valid for 16 days.
This is already practiced for the Leningrad Oblast (St. Petersburg), among others. What is new is that the simplified procedure applies to the entire territory of the Russian Federation. The cost of the electronic visa is US $ 40 and must be paid as part of the online application process.
“The cost of the application is around 40 US dollars - no more invitations, hotel reservations or other documents confirming the purpose of the trip are required,” explains ÖAMTC expert Maria Renner.
On the other hand, Austrian travelers no longer need a visa to travel to Turkey since March 2020. A tourist stay of a maximum of 90 days is possible. If you want to stay longer, you have to apply for a residence permit. The obligation to carry vehicles in vehicles is also extended there to include a spare tire.
