The ASA (Advertising Standards Authority), an organization in the UK advertising industry, has now banned the airline from re-using the controversial “Jab and Go” ad.

That probably backfired: The low-cost airline Ryanair recently caused a sensation with the advertising slogan “Jab and Go” - translated as “Prick and go”. This should encourage potential customers to start planning their vacation next spring now. After all, the vaccine would soon be available to all segments of society. But this would suggest the airline to people that travel in the future will only be possible after vaccination. In fact, that would not be true, according to the non-governmental organization. The company accepted this possible misinterpretation with approval. The consequences must now be borne for this.

And that's what Ryanair does too: Although “the ASA's decision is objectively unjustified”, it will be accepted and the advertising campaign will be suspended in the future, according to the platform Simple flying. A spokesman for the airline also assures that no vaccination will be necessary to fly with Ryanair in the future. With the slogan one is only happy that there is finally a vaccine. On Twitter, some users accuse the company of wanting to profit from the pandemic while denying the dramatic situation. "This is probably the most horrific advertisement I've ever seen," writes a Twitter user. A woman is similarly shocked: "Ryanair's new saying for 2021 is" Prick and go "- how disgusting is that?".
