The Italian antitrust authorities have fined Ryanair € 4,2 million for unfair business practices.

The antitrust authorities have found that the airline has not reimbursed consumers for tickets for flights canceled after June 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the past few days, the Cartel Office fined Easyjet € 2,8 million for the same reasons. The airline Volotea also has to pay a fine of 1,4 million euros.

The cartel office intervened after pressure from Italian consumer protection associations, which had complained about the behavior of the airlines, according to the ORF.
