The low-cost airline Ryanair is now uploading the results of corona tests and other Covid documents via the company's own app. As a result, a notice appears on the boarding pass that the evidence has been submitted. With this, the carrier wants to simplify the boarding processes.

The lowcoster expects that many people will fly on vacation in the summer of 2021 and cites the advancing vaccinations as the main reason. Proof of vaccination against Covid-19 can also be uploaded to the app. Ryanair explains the meaning of this as follows: “Ryanair is confident that the EU vaccination program will lift the current EU travel restrictions in time for the school holidays (June to September). In the meantime, customers can use Ryanair's Covid-19 travel wallet, which keeps all Covid travel documents in one place ”.

Dara Brady, Director of Marketing at Ryanair stated, “We are very excited to introduce the Ryanair Covid-19 travel wallet as we prepare for the return of family vacations in Summer '21. Many Ryanair customers will go on vacation for the first time in over a year and adhere to the new travel guidelines and this Covid-19 travel wallet allows customers to have all of their Covid documents like PCR test results, passenger locator forms and easily keep vaccination records in one place without having to worry about paperwork. Ryanair flights for summer 2021 are already bookable - subject to changing government travel restrictions - and we believe that once Europe's older and high-risk populations are vaccinated by the end of May or June, travel restrictions will be eased and air travel will be eased will experience an upturn due to the pent-up customer demand when families in Europe return to the beaches of Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece for their well-deserved summer vacation this summer. We look forward to welcoming our customers and their families on board again in summer 2021 ”.
