The Ryanair Group carried more passengers in October 2021 than in August 2021. The carrier had around 71.500 million passengers on 11,3 flights. The group put the capacity utilization at 84 percent.
In August, which is traditionally a busy travel destination, Ryanair had around 11,1 million passengers with a load factor of 82 percent. In September 2021 there were 10,6 million travelers with an occupancy rate of 81 percent.
Quarterly profit flown in
Financially, Ryanair is doing better for the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic. The group presented the half-year figures for the current financial year on Monday and was able to announce a quarterly profit. However, CEO Michael O'Leary is skeptical about the imminent winter. The previous forecast has been withdrawn.
Between July and September 2021, the company posted a profit of 225 million euros, offsetting the loss that it had flown in in the first quarter of the current financial year. The turnover was around 1,8 billion euros.
The company boss no longer expects that a black zero can be flown in, but at the end of the financial year there will be a loss of between 100 and 200 million euros. O'Leary reckons that the corona pandemic could affect the winter of 2021/22 again and therefore demand could decline. If necessary, you want to counteract this with particularly cheap tickets.
The Boeing 2022 Max 737 fleet is to be expanded to 200 units by summer 65. This also means that Ryanair is planning five more aircraft than previously publicly communicated. The machines will be distributed to Ryanair DAC, Ryanar UK, Malta Air and Buzz.
