The low-cost airline Ryanair will reactivate the bases in Tenerife South and Lanzarote in the 2023 summer flight schedule. Both closed in early 2020. Now they want to station two Boeing 737-800 each.

In perspective, the low-cost airline is also examining whether the former bases in Tenerife North, Gran Canaria and La Palma will also be reactivated. The 2023/24 winter timetable period is the earliest possible time for implementation. The necessary decisions have not yet been made. Ryanair aims to carry around 2026 million passengers from Spain by the 225 financial year.

“We are pleased to invest more than 400 million euros in the Canary Islands and to open not just one, but two new bases by summer 2023 – in Lanzarote and Tenerife. This is fantastic news for these two holiday regions, which attract millions of tourists looking for great fares and incredible choice,” said Eddie Wilson, Ryanair DAC Chief Executive.
