Irish low cost carrier Ryanair is reportedly looking to serve Russia from Italy. On this occasion, the low-cost airline had already secured the traffic rights of the Italian civil aviation authority for four weekly flights to St. Petersburg.

They want to start in the 2020/21 winter season. While competitor Wizzair recently announced plans to open its first Russian base in St. Petersburg, the Irish LCC does not apply in Russia. This shall be changed now. Corresponding plans have not (yet) been confirmed by Ryanair, such as ch-aviation.com reported.
