The strike at the low-cost airline Ryanair, originally only announced by trade unions in Spain, is spreading to more and more countries. After Portuguese employee representatives, two Italian unions are now also calling for a walkout on June 25, 2022.

In Spain, Portugal, France and Belgium have announced similar measures. This could result in significant restrictions on Ryanair Group air traffic from June 24, 2022. It is currently not foreseeable how many employees will actually participate.

CEO Michael O'Leary was not very concerned in an interview and even spoke of "Mickey Mouse unions". Among other things, the employee representatives are demanding higher wages and better working conditions. Since it is unclear how many flight attendants and pilots are unionized in the individual countries, it is not possible to estimate how many flights will be cancelled. However, it is to be expected that there could be massive irregularities.
