The Ryanair Group is currently assuming that Cyprus’s currently tough entry regulations will be relaxed shortly. The connections to Paphos and Larnaka are to be restarted in April 2021. The Irish group also expects increased demand in the summer of 2021.

The carrier serves both airports, which are located in the southern part of the island. A total of 106 flights are planned to be offered per week. Five new routes will be launched from Paphos and 29 additional routes from Larnaka. The Ryanair Group is also stationing three Boeing 737-800s in Larnaka.

Hopes are particularly on UK passengers. In a media statement, the carrier refers to the high speed. Cyprus intends to allow people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and can prove it to enter the country without restrictions. The connections from Paphos and Larnaka to Vienna are to be started according to the latest announcements in July 2021.

The Republic of Cyprus wants to join the Green Pass. As a result, people who can be tested for the coronavirus using PCR should receive easier entry. It has not yet been decided whether the government of the Mediterranean state will possibly also recognize the results of rapid antigen tests. The announcements made so far allow at least the assumption that Cyprus could say goodbye to the currently rather complicated system. But nothing is fixed yet.
