SAF joins SAF at Heathrow

Emirates is using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for the first time at London's Heathrow Airport. The delivery of more than 3.000 tons of SAF mixed with conventional aviation fuel by the end of summer 2024 marks a milestone for the airline.

London Heathrow's SAF Incentive Program ensures the affordability and accessibility of SAF. Emirates plans to capture delivery sustainability through reliable reporting methods. Using SAF can reduce carbon emissions by up to 80 percent compared to conventional aviation fuel.

The airline plans to further expand its SAF strategy and is already working on similar projects at other airports worldwide. Emirates is committed to advancing its initiative to reduce emissions through the use of sustainable fuels and to participate in the development of SAF production.
