The Wizz Air flights between Salzburg and Saint Petersburg that were already announced for September 2020 will not come to fruition at the beginning of the 2022 summer timetable period. The carrier last had these on sale from the end of March 2022.

In the summer of 2020, Wizz Air announced that one from September 2020 will fly between Salzburg and Saint Petersburg. The first flight has already been postponed countless times and this has now been done again. The aim is now to fly four times a week between the two cities from June 17, 2022. given the prehistory the actual implementation remains to be seen.

Both Kiev-Zhuliany and Kiev-Borispil are currently displayed in the carrier's reservation system. However, these are not two routes, but one. The background is that the inner-city airport of the Ukrainian capital will carry out a runway renovation. During this time, all carriers – for example – have to switch to Borispil. As a rule, Wizz Air only flies from Abu Dhabi to Borispil. The reason for this is simple: Schuljany is currently not suitable for the A321neo machine type. After the construction work, this will be possible and then the VAE flights should also take off and land at the inner-city airport.

Wizz Air is currently selling flights from Salzburg to Kiev from March 29, 2022. It is not yet clear whether these will actually be included or will be postponed again. The goal of Varna has been completely abandoned. In the previous year, this was said immediately before the first flight and it was postponed by a year. That came a few weeks ago final off, although not a single flight was operated on this route.
