The Scandinavian Star Alliance member SAS cashed the Airbus A350-900, which was only delivered on Friday, as part of a sale-and-leaseback agreement. According to the announcement, a corresponding contract has been concluded with CDB Aviation Lease Finance. This also includes three A320neo, which are due to be handed over in the coming year.

In the medium term, SAS wants to operate a pure Airbus fleet. According to CFO Magnus Örnberg, SLB deals are used to conserve liquidity. A new collective agreement was also concluded with the pilots. Among other things, he states that no salary increases will be carried out this year. In the previous year, the carrier sent countless pilots and flight attendants on permanent leave, as there is no short-time working model in Sweden. The aim is to offer those affected to re-employment by around 2024, but it can be assumed that many may have reoriented themselves by then.
