Saudi Arabia continues to work on strengthening its tourism industry: In order to attract more international visitors, visa requirements for numerous countries were relaxed on September 1st.

From now on, citizens of the European Union no longer have to apply for a visa before departure, but can receive a visa-on-arrival upon arrival. The same applies to residents of the USA and the UK. Up until now, those wishing to enter the country from Germany and other EU countries had to apply for their required visa electronically as an eVisa before starting their journey. The Kingdom has only been issuing visas for tourism purposes since September 2019. Three years later, a ministerial decree made entry for holidaymakers much faster and easier. Since the beginning of March, travelers to Saudi Arabia have no longer had to observe any pandemic-related travel restrictions. Neither proof of vaccination nor a negative corona test need to be presented, and the institutional quarantine requirements have also no longer applied since then. This is reported by Check24.
