Saudia is currently in intensive talks with both Airbus and Boeing about possible large orders. According to local media reports, the carrier organized itself three billion US dollars and wants to buy up to 70 new aircraft.
The timing for this order could bring the Saudi Arabia airline major discounts, as both manufacturers were only able to land a few new orders in 2020. Boeing in particular received a large number of cancellations, with the vast majority relating to the 737-Max crisis pattern.
Saudia is particularly interested in the Airbus A321, Boeing 777 and 787 models. However, the respective competing model could also be ordered. At the moment they are extremely closed and only confirm to the local media that they want to procure 70 new aircraft. It is therefore unclear how a possible order could be distributed exactly.
