Travel to the most enchanting places by public transport.

A single ticket is enough for a stroll through Switzerland: the Swiss Travel Pass. Welcome to Switzerland, where even the arrival is an experience.

Golden Pass Express

The world's first GoldenPass Express ensures even more driving pleasure between Montreux and Interlaken. From June 11, 2023, the newest premium panorama train of the Montreux-Berner Oberland-Bahn (MOB) will run four times a day - without changing trains. Choose between three travel classes and let us spoil you with regional delicacies on board. Looking for something special? The "Prestige" travel class offers the highest level of comfort and a unique travel experience that leaves nothing to be desired.

Once on Mount Pilatus

The Pilatusbahn, built in 1889, will soon shine in new splendor. In May 2023, eight new trains from Stadler Rail will start traveling up Lucerne's local mountain. The steepest cog railway in the world now runs every half hour up the Pilatus. Fantastic views are not only offered at the summit, because the large windows provide a view of the panorama while the train meanders upwards.

Floating over the border

In spring, the Matterhorn Glacier Ride II will start operating between the Klein Matterhorn and Testa Grigia in Italy. This makes the highest continuous crossing of the Alps by cable car, which bears the name Matterhorn Alpine Crossing, a reality. Anyone who thinks that this experience cannot be surpassed should take a seat in one of the two Crystal Ride cabins. The sophisticated cabin design not only impresses with countless crystals, but also with a glass floor that offers a view of the Alpine panorama. Thanks to the continuous, wheelchair-accessible connection, it is now possible for the first time to get from the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise to the Snow Xperience Plateau Rosa without snow sports equipment.

Impressive anniversaries

Most Swiss mountain railways were built around the turn of the century. They helped alpine tourism to a veritable boom and made the mountain peaks accessible to non-alpinists as well. In 2023, the following railways will celebrate their 130th anniversary: Schynige Platte Railway, Brienz-Rothorn Railway, Stanserhorn Railway and the Wengernalp Railway. A trip on the Bernina Express is not quite as old, but no less impressive. The fiery red train ran from Chur to Tirano for the first time in 1973 and has since welcomed more than 10 million guests on board.
