Service still in the test phase: Swiss picks up luggage from home

In cooperation with “Airportr”, the Swiss carrier is testing a new baggage service.

The service provider collects the suitcases of selected Swiss passengers from their homes up to 23 hours before the flight and takes them to Zurich Airport. This is a test run for which passengers are specifically written to via the newsletter. Whether and when a corresponding offer is introduced for all passengers departing from Zurich depends on the success of the test run.

The service should then be bookable online and cost the equivalent of around 37 euros for up to two suitcases, like the travel portal About Travel reported. The luggage is picked up at home or in the hotel up to 23 hours before departure, then sealed, transported to the airport and checked in for the flight. The suitcases then travel alone to the baggage carousel at the destination airport. Geneva, London-Heathrow, Berlin-Tegel, Barcelona El Prat, Hamburg, Amsterdam-Schiphol, Düsseldorf and Copenhagen are on offer. Zurich is the place of departure.
