Opinions are divided on the ban on accommodation in Germany, but a clear trend can be seen - at least in court. While the judicial authorities in the federal states of Saxony, Baden-Württemberg and Lower Saxony suspended the controversial regulation with immediate effect, Schleswig-Holstein is sticking to the ban.

The restriction will be lifted for inner-German vacationers from Corona risk areas on Saturday, said the Saxon State Minister of Health Petra Köpping. Saxony's Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer justified the lifting of the ban on accommodation by saying that she met people “who have nothing to do with the disease”. The type of design was "not proportionate," he criticized. Previously, the measure did not hold up in Baden-Württemberg and Lower Saxony, both court institutes also have concerns about the proportionality of the regulation.

In Schleswig-Holstein, however, the administrative court has rejected an urgent application against the accommodation ban. And that on the same day. In view of the rapidly increasing Covid-19 numbers, a suspension of the ban on accommodation could endanger the public health system, the news portal quotes Travel before 9 the decisive authority. The prescribed test is also financially reasonable. But everyone is certain of one thing: the courts will pursue this issue for some time to come.
