Singapore Airlines celebrated its comeback in Munich on Wednesday and will in future connect Germany's second largest airport with Singapore three times a week. The flights will be operated on Monday, Thursday and Saturday with the Airbus A350-900.

“Our flights to Munich have been very important to us since they went into operation in 2010. The Bavarian capital is the perfect starting point for corporate and leisure travelers from southern Germany and Austria and the resumption of Singapore Airlines flights from Munich to Singapore offers excellent access to Asia, Australia and New Zealand. This development confirms our confidence in an incipient market recovery and we look forward to welcoming our customers on board soon, ”said Sek Eng Lee, Regional Vice President Europe of Singapore Airlines.

Since December 2020, necessary trips such as business and official official trips between Germany and Singapore can be requested under certain conditions. Corresponding guidelines were published by the Singaporean government after both countries agreed on October 23, 2020 on the introduction of a so-called “Reciprocal Green Lane” (RGL), a mutual “green travel corridor”. In addition, the two airports are linked as partners, a "sister airport agreement" between Singapore Changi Airport and Munich Airport enables a lively professional exchange.

“We are very pleased that Singapore Airlines, one of the most renowned airlines from the Asian region, will from now on again regularly take off from Munich. The resumption of the non-stop connection from Munich to Singapore is a very important signal, especially in these difficult times. As a proven airlift for business travelers and as an efficient transport route for cargo, the Singapore Airlines connection is already bringing back a bit of normalcy. I hope that all other travelers will soon have the opportunity again to use the great service of Singapore Airlines from Munich, ”said Jost Lammers, Managing Director of Flughafen München GmbH.
