The airlines Singapore Airlines, Silk Air and Scoot carried out the first flights with crews vaccinated against Covid-19 on Thursday. The Singapore government has given the aviation sector a priority in vaccinating the country.

The first flights with all vaccinated crew members on board are SIA flight SQ956, which departed on February 11, 2021 at 09:30 a.m. local time from Singapore for Jakarta, Indonesia, and Scoot flight TR606, which departed at 09:30 a.m. local time to Bangkok, Thailand, and SilkAir's MI608, which will depart at 16:30 p.m. local time for Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

According to a media statement, more than 90 percent of cabin crew and pilots are said to have registered for the vaccination program. CEO Goh Choon Phong: “We are very encouraged by the high level of acceptance of the vaccine among our colleagues. Vaccinations are key to reopening borders and building travel confidence, along with robust testing systems and the far-reaching security measures that are carried out on the ground and in the air. They offer more protection for our employees and give our customers additional security ”.
