The Singapore government eased entry requirements for fully vaccinated people on Monday. This primarily affects people who fly to the city-state via the so-called "Vaccinated Travel Lane".

The basic requirement is that you have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus at least 14 days before you plan to enter the country. The vaccines from Moderna, AstraZeneca, Biontech/Pfizer and Johnson&Johnson are recognized. It is also necessary that the state in which you were vaccinated has a VTL agreement with Singapore.

At least three and no more than 60 days before the forthcoming entry into Singapore, passengers must apply for a so-called "Vaccinated Travel Pass" via the Internet. This is necessary in order to be able to use the VTL non-stop flights. Only these special connections entitle you to take advantage of the entry facilitation. You may only have stayed in the VTL contracting states, such as Germany, in the last 14 days before departure.

However, proof of vaccination is not sufficient for quarantine-free entry to Singapore. Several corona tests must be carried out. You must have completed the first before departure. It must be a PCR or rapid antigen test that is no more than 48 hours old. The decisive factor is that this is carried out by an official test center or a doctor. The findings or the negative test certificate must be carried and presented on request.

The next corona test must be carried out immediately after landing in Singapore at the airport. This is a PCR test. You can then continue to the hotel, but you have to wait there for the negative result. Then you can move in Singapore.

However, from the second day until seven days after entry, you have to carry out a quick test every day if you leave the accommodation. What is new is that self-tests are now also recognised. Previously, it was necessary to visit an official testing center at least on days 3 and 7. The results no longer have to be uploaded, but only documented and presented on request. Rapid test kits are available in Singapore in supermarkets, pharmacies, drugstores and in almost all hotels at reasonable prices.

Important: You must have travel insurance to stay in this state. This must include Covid diseases with a minimum coverage of 30.000 Singapore dollars. Travel insurance companies will issue relevant documents in English upon request.

While in Singapore, you must be reachable by email and/or mobile phone for the authorities and have the Trace Together app installed on your smartphone. This is usually used to communicate with the authorities. The results of the self-tests no longer have to be uploaded, but if requested, documentation or, for example, photos of the kits showing a negative result must be sent.
