Sint Maarten: disruption causes problems on the runway

At Sint Maarten Airport, a nose wheel steering malfunction is causing increased wait times for passengers. A 180-degree spin that caused a landing failure caused KLM Royal Dutch Airlines' Airbus A330-200 to runway problems.

As a result of this event, the affected passengers have to remain on the plane until buses can transport them to the airport terminal. When attempting to fly back to Amsterdam, this problem is repeated and the plane comes to a standstill again.

If the nose wheel control fails repeatedly, the aircraft must be towed. For the passengers, this means an extended waiting time of at least 2 hours. Finally, the passengers are brought back to the terminal, but the flight is scheduled at 20:05.
