The regional airline Skyalps intends to significantly expand its fleet by March 2024. In the future, 14 de Havilland Dash 8-400 will be operated and at least three of them will be stationed at southern Italian airports.
It has been known for some time that Skyalps intends to add at least ten turboprop aircraft of this type to its fleet. Currently, the fleet consists of four. Scheduled flights will soon be offered outside its home base of Bolzano. These will include the routes Verona-Rome (Fiumicino) and Düsseldorf-Linz.
Air Transport World spokesperson Alex Spinato confirmed that the fleet will be expanded by March 2024, with at least three aircraft based at airports in southern Italy. For competitive reasons, the company has not yet revealed further details. In a few days, the fleet will be increased from four to five de Havilland Dash 8-400s. The aircraft will also be gradually retrofitted with special winglets.
