Bozen Airport's own brand is planning to double the fleet to four de Havilland Dash 8-400 this year. Two machines of this type, operated by the Maltese Luxwing, are currently in use.

A company spokesman told Aviation.Direct that the third turboprop aircraft will arrive in Bolzano shortly. “The third machine shouldn't be long in coming and the fourth is on the cards for this year. Unfortunately, I cannot give you any exact timetables for this, as delays have to be taken into account - also due to the pandemic," said the media officer.

The current demand describes Skyalps as good and looking forward the summer timetable 2022 positively towards. “We have some new destinations in our program and we are excited and confident that these routes will be very well received by our guests. With the destinations in Sardinia and in the south of Italy as well as in the direction of the Balearic Islands, we are hoping for a boost, especially in outgoing business," says a company spokesman.

What is also new is that you have set up two of your own package tour platforms. “SkyAlps Vacations” is aimed at passengers in the premium segment. "Dolomiti Smart Holiday" is intended to offer a "slightly cheaper alternative". Passengers can use both platforms to book their holidays – hotel including flight from Bolzano – as package tours. Distribution takes place via the SkyAlps homepage, among other things.

In charter one becomes offer some routes from Maribor. This means that for the first time in a long time there are regular flights from the Slovenian airport. Tickets for the Slovenia routes are sold via the customer's sales channels. However, aircraft will not be stationed in Maribor, but the de Havilland Dash 8-400 will be flown in from Bolzano, whereby this route can be booked through the Slovenian tour operator.

When asked that Skyalps could obtain its own AOC and operating license and thus become independent of the Maltese Luxwing, the company spokesman did not want to comment. One cannot comment on this at the moment.
