The Greek airline Skyexpress announces the launch of three new routes from Athens. These are Munich, Milan-Malpensa and Sofia. As a rule, these should be served with medium-haul jets of the Airbus A320neo type.

The state capital of Bavaria is to be headed for for the first time from November 2, 2022. It is currently planned that the Airbus A320neo will commute between the Greek capital and Germany's second largest airport on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

So far, Skyexpress has tended to have smaller airports in its program from Germany and has stayed away from large hubs such as Frankfurt or Munich. That will change with the start of the 2022/23 winter timetable period, because the state capital of Bavaria will be included in the program. Since the carrier has numerous interlining agreements, it is to be expected that they will be looking to get transfer passengers into their own route network in Munich and not only in Athens.

Also from November 2, 2022, Skyexpress intends to serve the Sofia-Athens route five times a week. A day later, Milan-Malpensa is to be included in the route network. The carrier is also planning five rotations per week on this route. Aviation.Direct tested Skyexpress' product a few months ago and presented in this report.
