The Slovenian government wants to support the construction of additional routes from Ljubljana by means of subsidies. The call for tenders has not yet been published because the hoped-for approval from the EU Commission is still pending.

It is currently not foreseeable whether and when the competition authority will give the green light. The state of Slovenia initially wants to provide funds to start flights to Vienna, Copenhagen, Athens, Madrid, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Charleroi, Skopje, Prague and Berlin. The tender is expected to run for 30 days once published.
