A total of five airlines have applied for subsidies for connections to / from Ljubljana in Slovenia. A total of 764.640 euros are to be distributed. However, the government has not disclosed who has submitted applications or who will receive how much.

In the previous year, a total of eight airlines received grants totaling almost one million euros. These were Turkish Airlines, Swiss, Air Serbia, Montenegro Airlines, Lufthansa, Air France, Wizz Air and LOT. Easyjet went away empty-handed at the time, because the lowcoster couldn't meet the requirements.

After the bankruptcy of Adria Airways and especially due to the corona pandemic, Ljubljana is granting subsidies for maintaining air traffic to / from Slovenia. Both existing routes and new routes can be funded. However, the amount of the subsidy is rather low compared to other options for airlines.
