Slovenia: Only Luxair and Air Montenegro apply for funding

Only Luxair and Air Montenegro have applied for the subsidies advertised by the Slovenian government. Numerous carriers, including Austrian Airlines, had previously expressed their interest. According to the Slovenian government, only the two providers actually applied.

Flight connections are to be promoted on a total of ten routes, including Berlin and Vienna. The Slovenian government will now start negotiations with the two bidders, but it is somewhat annoying that no favored low-cost provider and no network carrier that would maintain a hub at the other end has applied. It was hoped that some of the route subsidies could be given to low-cost airlines and some to network carriers. Additional transfer flights were expected from the latter.
