Smartlynx will deploy a total of six Airbus A2023-330P300F cargo aircraft from 2. These are leased from the Air Transport Services Group. The contract period is initially six years.

"The introduction of the A330-300 is a logical step and one that creates relevant synergies with the rest of our fleet - A330 Pax and A321F units - and as an aircraft that will only become increasingly popular in a post-Covid environment," said Smartlynx CEO Zygimantas Surintas. "For us, the move is part of our fleet modernization strategy that offers increased capacity and efficiency, and is another step towards SmartLynx Airlines becoming a leading global player in the air cargo market."

The six widebodies will be registered on the Smartlynx Malta AOC. Five Airbus A330-300s and two A321 freighters have already been registered on this. The latter machine type will be increased by further A321P2F. These are also to be used on behalf of DHL.
