With the 9H-ORN, the Smartlynx Malta airline has taken delivery of the first Boeing 737 Max in the company's history. The medium-haul jet arrived at Luqa Airport on Monday evening.

According to Mavio News, this Boeing 737 Max is under scrutiny by officials from Malta's Civil Aviation Authority (CAD). This is a common process when aircraft are flown into the fleet. Smartlynx Malta will initially receive two Boeing 737 Max.

The aviation group surprised the industry some time ago by announcing that numerous Boeing 737 Max, which are obtained from lessors, are incorporated into the fleet. The machines will be registered on the various AOCs of the group of companies. For the Malta offshoot, the also in the cargo area is active, two Boeing 737 Max are intended for the time being. Previously, Smartlynx was considered a loyal Airbus customer.
