The Czech Smartwings Group has received a loan of around 76 million euros from a banking consortium led by Unicredit. This is guaranteed by the Czech government. However, the government is asking to pay for the guarantee. The carrier's shareholders also contribute funds. The total volume is therefore around 270 million euros.

The subsidiary CSA will not see any of this, as the provisions of the Czech government prevent it from being passed on. A few weeks ago, the Skyteam member had to IRegister nsolvencybecause, among other things, negotiations about possible state aid have failed. The future of CSA is still completely open, as decisions by creditors and the court can only be expected in a few months.

According to the requirements, the state aid granted in the Czech Republic may only be used for the Czech part of the Smartwings. The group of companies has local branches in Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, among others. These should not be up for discussion. Local permits are required on certain routes for legal reasons.
