In Germany, there are currently restrictions on air traffic due to a software problem at German air traffic control. The center in Langen, which is also responsible for arrivals and departures, is affected.
According to a statement by DFS, air traffic in Germany is severely affected and can currently only take place to a limited extent. We are working hard on a solution. Overflights are currently possible without restrictions because, according to German air traffic control, these are managed by the Center Karlsruhe and no technical problems have occurred there.
DFS explains that the airspace in central Germany is controlled from Langen. The area of responsibility includes major airports such as Frankfurt am Main, Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn. Air traffic control assumes that there will be restrictions in Langen until the software problem is resolved.
