In a few days, the 2022/23 winter flight schedule will also begin at Switzerland's largest airport, Zurich-Kloten. There are innovations in particular on the routes to Africa and Asia. For example, Cathay Pacific is reactivating the Hong Kong route.

On October 31, 2022, Ethiopian Airlines will start a direct connection between Zurich and its hub Addis Ababa. Initially, three weekly rotations will be offered, with one stopover, as is usual with direct flights. This takes place in Milan-Malpensa. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the Boeing 787-9 takes off at 20.30:XNUMX p.m. for Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. From the Ethiopian capital there are excellent connections to destinations on the entire African continent.

Connections to the Asian continent are also being expanded with Cathay Pacific and Swiss. After a break of more than two years due to the pandemic, the Asian carrier will fly twice a week from Zurich to Hong Kong with the Airbus A350 from December. Swiss is also reinstating the route to Hong Kong in its flight schedule with five flights a week.

With Bristol, Swiss is now heading for the city in south-west England. Edelweiss flies to a second Cape Verde island with a weekly flight to Boa Vista. In addition, Edelweiss is planning two rotations to Akaba (Jordan) starting in February 2023, with a stopover in Amman. Swiss is also expanding its long-haul offering and increasing the frequencies to Delhi, Mumbai and Bangkok to daily flights in the winter flight schedule. The offer to Singapore will be increased from five to six flights per week.

The destinations Bologna, Nantes, Sofia and Vilnius offered by Swiss in the current 2022 summer timetable period will also be offered in the cold season. Edelweiss will continue to fly to Ponta Delgada and Croatia Airlines will also be offering the destinations Pula and Split in the 2022/23 winter flight schedule.

Chair Airlines flies to Las Palmas and Tenerife over the winter. Easyjet, for example, offers Lisbon. Saudia, which landed in Zurich from Riyadh for the first time in August, is also continuing its flights in the winter timetable. So did United Airlines, which added the route to Chicago to its portfolio at the end of April.

From October 30th, Chair Airlines will be offering a new Self Bag Drop service. At check-in 2 in row 5, airline travelers can hand in their luggage themselves. The Self-Bag-Drop offer can also be used the evening before. In order to be able to use the offer, passengers must check in online in advance and be in possession of a boarding pass.
