The Turkish airline Sunexpress assumes that demand for holidays in Turkey will also be high this year. The fact that the country led by Erdogan is increasingly positioning itself as a cheap destination should also play a role.

“The desire to travel to the Turkish Riviera is still strong, as shown by the strong advance bookings for the coming summer, which are already 23 percent higher than last year,” explained Sunexpress boss Max Kownatzki. “Although increased prices continue to impact daily life, consumers in this country continue to prioritize travel over other leisure expenses. As an airline, we are responding to ongoing demand by increasing our capacity for the summer, extending the summer into the fall and investing in the winter. Turkey stands for more than just sun and beach. The country also offers a fascinating culture, culinary highlights and a wide range of sports. Together with our partners, we market Turkey as a versatile year-round destination. In the coming years we expect increasing demand for cultural and culinary trips and sports holidays such as skiing or golf.”

Stefan Baumert, CEO of TUI Germany, adds from the tour operator's perspective: “Demand for Turkey continues to gain momentum and with it our goal of exceeding the one million guest mark from Germany for the first time. To this end, we are expanding our flight offering with our own flights and with SunExpress. The close partnerships with hoteliers in Turkey enable us to offer new and even more high-quality accommodation in the best beach locations this summer. Guests have high expectations of their summer vacation and that is why close cooperation between organizers, airlines and hotel partners is so important. The highlight for us will be the new TUI Magic Life Beldibi in Kemer on the Turkish Riviera.”
