Croatia Airlines is preparing for the difficult summer months: The state airline is taking a total of 14 destinations out of its program.

From Zagreb, the carrier is putting flights to Barcelona, Bucharest, Dublin, Helsinki, Lisbon, Milan, Mostar, Oslo, Prague, St. Petersburg, Stockholm and Tel Aviv on hold. From Dubrovnik, however, it only hits Düsseldorf. Also from Split, only one route is affected with Belgrade. The airline does not want to rule out deletions beyond this - there is little planning security these days anyway.

Nonetheless: the cuts are surprising. Because far more tourists are expected on the Adriatic coast this year than in the Corona year. The aviation portal reports Ex-Yu Aviation. This optimism is not yet noticeable in the booking figures, according to Slaven Žabo, Director Commercial Division at Croatia.

“Under normal circumstances, we would be accepting bookings for the summer season now. However, this is not the case at the moment. We expect our customers to book their summer vacation late. However, it remains questionable whether these late bookings can compensate for the booking arrears ”, Žabo continues.

So I don't know where this belief comes from, “Because far more tourists would be expected on the Adriatic coast this year than in the Corona year” Is 2021 not a Corona year? And why shouldn't you have learned from last summer?
