Salzburg Airport is setting the course for the upcoming summer. A summer destination offer was worked out together with the tourism partners.

The airport is introducing a total of eight new travel destinations. In addition to the expansion of the offer in Greece (Zakynthos and Karpathos), Germany (Lübeck) and Italy (Lamezia Terme), holiday destinations such as Larnaca, Riyadh, Jeddah and Dubai are also new. “We are especially looking forward to Dubai, an absolute highlight in our flight schedule! From the summer season, the glamorous city in the United Arab Emirates can be reached without changing trains from Salzburg with FlyDubai, ”says airport manager Bettina Ganghofer.

The classics in the "destination menu"

But well-tried routes should not be missing either. In addition to Karpathos and Zakynthos, the Greek islands of Crete, Rhodes, Kos and Corfu can be found in the flight plan. Italian destinations such as Calvi and Olbia are also being served again. Just like Mallorca, Hurghada, Istanbul, Antalya, Luxembourg, London-Gatwick, London-Stansted, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg and Frankfurt.

The global corona pandemic has not stopped at anyone and has not spared Salzburg Airport either. But it also has one thing: it made travel planning difficult or even impossible. Because even now there is still a lot in the balance for the summer, according to the airport. "Short-term issues in route planning will be with us more often this summer."
