With Bologna, Nantes, Vilnius, Pisa, Newquay, Ponta Delgada and Ajaccio, there are seven new destinations direct from Zurich with the summer flight schedule from next Sunday. A total of 191 destinations are served, which is almost the same as before the pandemic.

Both the hub carrier Swiss and Edelweiss are expanding their flight schedules in the summer and expanding their offering from Zurich. Pisa, Newquay and Ponta Delgada are new additions to the Edelweiss route portfolio. With the change to the summer flight schedule, Swiss is adding Bologna, Nantes, Sofia and Vilnius to its flight schedule. Edelweiss will take over your previous routes to Bilbao, Cork and Bergen. Air Corsica connects Zurich with Ajaccio during the holiday months of July and August. In addition, Condor is back in Zurich and offers connections to Heraklion, Ibiza, Rhodes, Kos and Cyprus.

Expansion to North America

From April 24, United Airlines will be flying daily from Zurich to Chicago all year round. In addition, United Airlines will resume its seasonal connection to San Francisco from the beginning of May. Beginning May 15, Delta Air Lines will offer daily flights between Zurich and New York JFK. Edelweiss is also expanding its connections to North America. Las Vegas will be served again as soon as the flight plan changes, and Denver as well from mid-June. In addition, the Canadian destinations Vancouver and Calgary will again be connected several times a week with direct flights from Zurich.

Air Canada and Royal Jordanian revivals

Air Canada will resume seasonal service to Vancouver in mid-June. Royal Jordanian is returning to Zurich at the beginning of April after a two-year break due to the pandemic. In a triangular flight, it serves Zurich, Geneva to Amman, as the airport reports.

Zurich Airport expects an increase in passenger traffic over the Easter days and spring break. For this reason, travelers are asked to continue to prepare well for their trip. This includes, among other things, finding out about the travel regulations in the destination country at an early stage, arriving at the airport already tested on the day of departure if necessary and having all the necessary travel documents ready at check-in. In order to avoid waiting times when dropping off luggage, Lufthansa Group passengers who have already checked in online and received their boarding pass can use the new self-bag-drop machines. This is currently possible in Check-in 2, in row 5.
