The airline Iberia Express is facing a ten-day strike by cabin crew. If no agreement is reached beforehand, this should take place between August 28 and September 6, 2022.

It is currently assumed that around 517 employees of the Iberia subsidiary working in Madrid could participate. The background to the discrepancy between employee representatives and employers is that the unions believe that working conditions must be improved in the new collective agreement.

The union USO strongly criticizes the management of Iberia Express and accuses them of not taking the required negotiations seriously. From the point of view of the employee representatives, the only way to increase the pressure is to call for a strike. Should the strike actually take place, it would affect operations on August 28, 29, 30 and 31 and September 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, 2022.

The actual participation in the walkouts remains to be seen, because USO repeatedly called for a strike at competitor Ryanair, but only a few employees took part. In Spain, several unions compete for cabin crew favors.
