Travelers from the EU and the Schengen area will no longer have to present a corona health certificate when entering the popular holiday destination of Spain.

This means that holidaymakers can now travel to Spain again without having to present a corona vaccination, recovery or a negative test. An entry form also no longer needs to be filled out, so vacations in Spain are possible again like they were before the pandemic. For travelers from all other countries, however, the previous requirements remain in place. This is reported by the online portal Aero.

The Ministry of Health in Madrid justified the easing with the “improvement in the epidemiological situation” in Spain and other European countries. In addition, Spain has a high vaccination rate. The ministry put the seven-day incidence of new infections in people over the age of 60 at 282.

Since April 19, the general obligation to wear masks in indoor public spaces in Spain has been lifted almost everywhere. Mouth and nose protection only has to be worn in healthcare facilities such as hospitals, medical practices and pharmacies as well as in retirement and nursing homes. The mask will also remain mandatory on public transport for the time being.
