In Wiener Neustadt yesterday the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the new flight police station in the presence of Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner and Federal Minister Karl Nehammer.

According to the governor, the police are an important partner in the Lower Austria security family. Coexistence in Lower Austria works on demand. Mikl-Leitner also thanked for the good cooperation between the state of Lower Austria and the Ministry of the Interior. It is a "happy day and a satisfaction" that the flight operations center is being set up in Wiener Neustadt. The flight police set European standards here.

Federal Minister Karl Nehammer is convinced that security can only be achieved if there is a functioning interaction. The anti-terrorist unit is also located at the location of the flight police in Wiener Neustadt. Since November 3 of the previous year, it has been known how important such forces are. "Every police officer makes an important contribution to security in the country," said the Federal Minister of the Interior.

Hangars for helicopters as well as offices and a large workshop for maintenance are being built on the approximately 6.800 square meter area on the Cobra site.
