Carsten Spohr's brother, Matthias Spohr, has been Managing Director of Lufthansa Aviation Training since February 1, 2021. Before that he was flight operations manager and head of flight ops standards and engineering at Eurowings. He succeeds Stephan Klar, who will take on a different role within the group.

The Lufthansa Group intends to decide at a later date on the position that has become vacant at Eurowings due to the change of the brother of the CEO. Tiziana Heilig acts as Chief Financial Officer at the training subsidiary.

“I am very much looking forward to my new role as part of a team of experienced and young colleagues at the LAT locations! I would like to help not only strengthen our position within the Group, but also drive external business forward. Lufthansa Aviation Training will also play an important role in the upcoming restart of the Lufthansa Group's airlines, ”said Matthias Spohr about his start at LAT.
