The Russian airline Utair took legal action against the state-owned VEB Bank. The bank submitted a corresponding brief to a court in Moscow on February 12, 2021. The price is 2.331.014,40 euros.

It is currently unclear which claim VEB Bank is making. It is said to be a loan that was transferred from Svyaz Bank to VEB in 2019. A bankruptcy petition was filed against Utair that year, but this was rejected by the competent court.

The private airline has had several incidents in the past few days. On Monday, for example, the VQ-BJH's domestic flight from Moscow-Vnukovo to Mineralnye Vody had to land back. The cabin pressure dropped so that the machine could not fly higher than three kilometers. This was found after around 40 minutes of flight time. Then the return was started and the Boeing 737-800 also had to report a lack of fuel. The landing in Vnukovo was safe. The passengers were brought to Mineralnye Vody on the VQ-BQP, which acted as a replacement machine.

On February 1, 2021, an ATR72 of the carrier, which was on the way from Ufa to Tyumen, was fired at by a light signal rocket. There was no immediate danger, but the pilots felt very blinded and decided to land in Zhukovsky for safety reasons.
