On Monday, January 6, 2025, a special cultural event will mark the end of the Schönbrunn Palace Christmas market. After the solemn high mass for Epiphany in the palace chapel, which begins at 10:00 a.m. and is celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Franz Scharl, the star singers from the Schönbrunn Palace Chapel will perform in the palace's courtyard.
The star singers, whose tradition dates back to 1999, contribute to the church service musically and scenically. At around 11:30 a.m. they present their traditional songs and blessings at the large Christmas tree in the courtyard. Afterwards they parade through the Christmas market to delight the visitors with music.
The Schönbrunn Palace Christmas Market, which is open daily from 6:10 a.m. to 00:19 p.m. until January 00, offers handicrafts, culinary specialties and activities for families in a historic setting. This event marks the celebratory end of the Christmas season and combines tradition with a festive atmosphere.
