On September 18, Stuttgart Airport invited people to clean up the airport fence together on World Cleanup Day. More than 100 helpers took part and collected cigarette butts, packaging waste, lost masks and other rubbish while walking on the Fildern.

Around 250 liters of waste were collected on the afternoon of the campaign. At three stations between the tower in Filderstadt-Bernhausen and the eastern end of the runway, the airport provided volunteers with clean-up equipment such as garbage bags and gloves. At the Steppach reservoir, the STR also donated a scoop of ice cream from the Stuttgart ice workshop to all participants. “Stuttgart Airport is surrounded by communities, fields, streams and lakes. With its long-term sustainability strategy fairport STR, the state airport assumes ecological and social responsibility in the region ”, it says in the broadcast.
