The airline SAS and its pilots have agreed on a compromise after 15 days of strikes. This includes new collective agreements with a term of 5,5 years. Regular flight operations should be restarted as soon as possible.
Company boss Anko van der Werff was initially pleased that an agreement could be reached with the four pilots' unions and that the strike, which paralyzed the company for 15 days, is over. At the same time, the SAS boss apologized to all passengers who, for example, could not fly on vacation due to the pilots' industrial action.
The agreement reached between SAS and employee representatives is a compromise. Nevertheless, the airline considers this to be particularly important in order to be able to achieve the self-imposed savings target of around 7,5 billion Swedish crowns per year. The parent company SAS Group is currently located in the USA in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection proceeding.
