In the dispute over the special tax for airlines introduced by the Hungarian government, Ryanair has already canceled eight routes from Budapest. In addition, frequencies will be reduced, in some cases significantly, on seven other routes.
The mood between the Hungarian government and the low-cost airline Ryanair, whose Polish subsidiary Buzz maintains a base in Budapest, is currently not very friendly. The carrier rumbles against a special tax and acted due to the fact that it was subsequently passed on to the passengers, a fine. One goes against this before the General Court of the European Union.
Meanwhile, Ryanair has announced that capacity will be withdrawn from Hungary and to the neighboring countries, including Austria, will be relocated. Flight connections will be cancelled to Bordeaux, Bournemouth, Cologne/Bonn, Kaunas, Kraków, Riga and Turin. In addition, the frequencies are shortened on other routes.
Amman, Bristol, Manchester, Pisa, Prague, Sofia and Warsaw-Modlin will be offered less frequently from the Hungarian capital in the 2022/23 winter flight schedule. With the exception of Prague, one return journey is made once a week. Ryanair is reducing flights to the Czech capital from five to two rotations per week.
