Air travelers have to be prepared for cancellations and delays at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport due to a strike.
A quarter of the flights between 7 a.m. and 14 p.m. were canceled, which corresponds to around 100 flights, as reported by the German aviation portal Aero. In addition, access to the building was difficult because people were demonstrating in front of it. On its website, the airport operator Aéroports de Paris advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours earlier for international flights. He also warned on Twitter of disruptions at the second Paris airport, Orly.
Several unions had called for the airport staff to go on strike. Among other things, they demand a salary increase of 300 euros. Laurent Dahyot of the CGT union told France Info that many airport workers were struggling financially due to inflation at the end of the month. According to the report, the strike could continue after Thursday. The employees decided on this at a general meeting.
