Young people also had their first day of work at Stuttgart Airport on Thursday. The airport has taken on 18 new apprentices. These are trained, among other things, in the fields of electrical engineering, IT, vehicle mechatronics, office management and the plant fire brigade.

Two dual students have checked in with them at the airport: In cooperation with the Worms University of Applied Sciences and the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University, they are starting the Aviation Management and Industrial Engineering courses with a focus on Facility Management.

"Educating young people is the best way to counteract the shortage of skilled workers," emphasizes Managing Director Walter Schoefer. “Due to demographic change, we will lose many employees in the coming years. That's why it's all the more important to invest in the promotion of young talent.

Young people who will have their school-leaving certificate in their pockets next year can now apply for training starting in autumn 2023. The vacant training positions can now be found on the airport's website.
