Stuttgart: New freight connection to the USA

Since April 2, 2023, there has been a freight connection between Stuttgart and Birmingham (USA) operated on behalf of Kühne+Nagel. This is served once a week with Boeing 747-8.

“The fast and direct delivery of goods by air freight is an important location factor for the export-oriented economy in Baden-Württemberg. Traditionally, Stuttgart Airport has specialized in the handling of high-value freight. We are therefore very pleased that the Kuehne+Nagel forwarding company is implementing this new order here at the state airport and wish the new route every success,” says Ulrich Heppe, CEO Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH.

So-called premium freight, mainly from the mechanical engineering and automotive sectors, is handled at Stuttgart Airport. In the past year 2022, a total of around 26.000 tons of air freight were registered at the state airport.
