A total of ten airlines benefit from state subsidies in Ljubljana. The government had recently advertised subsidies intended to improve Slovenia's connection.

FlyDubai, Easyjet, Lot, Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, Air Montenegro, Air Serbia, Brussels Airlines, Swiss and Lufthansa had applied. In this round, all providers who had applied were considered. A total of 1,83 million euros will be awarded, which will be divided among these ten airlines according to a predetermined key.

In the previous year, Air France and its subsidiary Transavia were among the largest recipients of subsidies, along with Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. Neither the French airline nor its low-cost offshoot applied for Slovenian funding this year.
